Generate
Turn a real strain name into a gourmet code name that can go on a label.
Two things and you are set up
Write the key down somewhere safe. It is what makes your codes yours, and without it an encrypted label cannot be opened by anyone, including you.
Generate a code name
Coded as
unsavedThe same real name plus the same cipher key always produces the same code name, so you can never end up with two aliases for one strain.
How the cipher works
- Type the real name. It stays on this device, never printed on a label.
- The key mixes it. Your private cipher key is folded into a hash, so your codes are yours alone.
- Out comes a gourmet name from a list of real cultivated species, plus a short code like BO-4F2K.
- Print it on any bluetooth label printer, or export the whole library to CSV.

Orders
Orders from your Culture Cave store, ready to print.
On the phone open Settings and tap Get a link code, then type the code here. Nothing to copy or paste.
Connect this app to your Culture Cave store and every order lands here with what to pick, whether its shipping label has been bought, and one button to print the lot.
Advanced
For each order, print
Sizes and options
Connect a printer, tick the orders, then Print selected.
Payments
Who has paid, and who still owes you.
Payments works from the same order feed as printing. Paste your Cipher key on the Orders tab and every order lands here, paid or waiting.
Go to OrdersShipping
Orders waiting to go out.
Shipping works from the same order feed as printing. Paste your Cipher key on the Orders tab and every order since the cutoff lands here with its address, label and tracking.
Go to OrdersSettings
Your lab, printer, store connection and code names.
Lab
Saved to your store, so the Culture Cave dashboard uses it too. Any order can still be quoted with another provider from its Shipping label card.
Printer
The printer button in the top bar opens this from any screen, and pressing Print with nothing connected asks you to connect first, then prints.
Culture Cave
Orders sync from your Culture Cave store with your Cipher key. Connect on the Orders tab.
Postage balance
ShipStation can also top itself up: switch on auto-funding on the ShipStation website and it adds a set amount whenever the balance drops below a level you choose.
Use it on a computer
Open this app's address in Chrome or Edge on the computer, then type a link code on its Orders tab. A code works once, within 20 minutes.
Cipher
Changing any of this does not touch names already saved. It only changes what new ones generate as.
Use that once, before you have printed anything. It rewrites every short code and code name in the library, so any label already on a jar stops matching.
Data
Everything lives in this browser only. Nothing is uploaded anywhere. Back it up regularly, and keep the backup somewhere safe.
Android app
The Culture Cipher Android app prints straight to a Munbyn RW403B / RW402B or any Bluetooth, BLE or USB label printer, with no printer app in the way. Pair the printer in Android's Bluetooth settings, open Culture Cipher, connect, print.
Android will ask to allow installs from your browser the first time. Everything in this web version, including your library, carries over once you restore a backup inside the app.
Printer notes
This app makes a pixel exact black and white PNG at your label size. That is the one format every mobile label printer understands.
- Munbyn, Nelko, Jadens, Phomemo, Itari, Aimo and the rest: open their app, choose print from gallery or image, pick the PNG, set the same label size, print at 100 percent with scaling off.
- Direct print works with AirPrint and Mopria printers and with anything on a desktop.
- Set the resolution to match the printer. Nearly all pocket bluetooth printers are 203 dpi.
